BOND

A chasm grows
much farther, wider, deeper
here before me.
If I can't garner fight,
the fear will eat me whole.
I step up to the edge
and then breathe in.
A fall from there would end
with harrow in my heart.
I should've known
right from the start.
I'm tearing me apart

My heart is racing scared.
I feel so unprepared.
It's hard and I can't see
what's on the other side.
It's typical:
we break and remold,
you shake
and I hold you close.
We finally try to see the light
to cross this great divide.

The problem is
I want to do so much more than I can
with all the time and resources available at hand,
that in the face of demons deadly
screaming,
"I am dreaming,"
not believing
I object.
Because it hasn't happened yet.
What do I expect?

My heart is racing scared.
I feel so unprepared.
It's hard and I can't see
what's on the other side.
It's typical:
we break and remold,
you shake
and I hold you close.
We finally try to see the light
across the great divide.

My heart is racing
and I'm pacing scared.
Is this the truth that I've been searching all along for?
My cards are facing up,
I'm giving in to you.
In these final moments,
we're one component.

Heart is racing scared.
I feel so unprepared.
But what if I can't see you on the other side?
It's typical:
we break and remold
when you shake and I hold you close.
We finally try to see the light
and cross this great divide.
